Frequently asked questions

Weddings can be overwhelming! below you’ll find some of our most commonly asked questions!

Whether you’re ready to get married, or just browsing there’s a few things you should know before tying the knot!

  • Great question! There are so many factors involved that impact the price.

When sending your contact details, give me a brief outline of your big day and I’ll send you a quote.

  • Where to start?! What to do?!

I know it can seem overwhelming on where to start when you are choosing a celebrant and everyone does it differently. Here is how I do things…

    1. YOU FOUND ME!

Hurrah! You have heard about me via word of mouth, my IG, Celebrant Ladylove or elsewhere. Now let's make a time to chat to make sure we are a good fit. I have an initial chat with couples over Facetime or Zoom and it will take about 15 minutes. We will chat about what you have planned thus far, what you want from a celebrant and anything else you want to chat about.

    2. YOU LOVE ME (AND VICE VERSA!)

I leave it with you to discuss with your special person if you want to have me as your celebrant. If you are ready to go ahead and lock me in… FABULOUS! You can email or call me and I'll send you through the next steps. What are those steps?!! Well, thank you for asking. I will send you through my T&C's for you to accept as well as payment details for a 50% non-refundable booking fee, that secures me for your date and time.

    3. ALL LOCKED IN! NOW LETS CATCH UP

I'll send you some more information for you to read and forms to fill out so I can get your NOIM (Notice of Intended Marriage) form completed. This has to be done at least one month to 18 months before your wedding and you will need to get it signed in the presence of either myself or another authorised person (such as a JP, a police officer or barrister/solicitor).

I will make a time to see you face to face to lodge this paperwork and on top of that, we can go through planning your ceremony structure in more detail. If I can't see you in person, we can make time to chat over Facetime or Zoom.

    4. QUESTIONNAIRE TIME

I will email you through a Questionnaire that you can fill out during the months before your wedding. I usually set a deadline at one month before the ceremony date. Your final payment for my services is due at this time too.

    5. CREATIVE BUZZ

I write your unique and fabulous script for your big day with the information you have provided. You can see this script if you like, however I always think its nicer to hear it for the first time on your wedding day. I ask that you have your personal vows sent to me one week before your wedding.

    6. BA BOOM! THE DAY HAS ARRIVED!

I will arrive to your wedding early to set up my super cool and crystal clear BOSE PA system. I will find the both of you to sign something called a DONLIM (Declaration Of No Legal Impediment) which basically means you're promising me that you are not already married, are not sibling related and are definitely of legal age to be married. Once I have done that, I will meet and greet your guests and get everyone ready for your arrival…. and FINALLY we have the ceremony you have both dreamed of and BAM! YOU ARE MARRIED! (Well there is a bit more paperwork needed from me but you don't need to worry about that!)

So, now you know the process. Do you have any other questions?!

  • In Australia, both parties must be 18 years old or over and be consenting to legally marry. You can be cousins (true story!) but not related as brother or sister (or adopted siblings). You must lodge the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) with me one full calendar month before the wedding date, which is valid for up to 18 months after lodgement

I will need to see photo ID such as a passport or birth certificate with a drivers licence so I know you are the real deal! If you have been previously married, I will need to see proof of the dissolution of marriage. For example a divorce certificate or death certificate. If you have any tricky questions outside of these parameters, be sure to ask me! There is no such thing as a silly question. Better to be sure than to do something illegal and end up not even actually married!

  • Wanna know a lil secret? I genuinely believe a rehearsal isn’t necessary. From my experience, even if we do have a rehearsal - the excitement of the Big Moment means everyone forgets what they're supposed to be doing anyway! That’s where I step in. I’ll be there to guide you and every member of your support team every step of the way; how to walk down the aisle, where to stand, when to step forward with the rings - I will expertly coordinate everyone in the moment to have the perfect ceremony. Being a pro at this wedding gig - I don’t need to practice! If you are a bit nervous, and a rehearsal is really important to you - I’ll be there. Let me know when and where you want to have it, and I’ll pop you through a quote for me to attend.

  • Yes I do! I have the best of the best! A Bose Pro Speaker and a Sennhesier microphone that is a 10/10. You are more than welcome to play your ceremony music through my PA for the ceremony. I have a designated IPOD for the occasion. Just create a playlist on spotify and nominate a tech savvy helper for the day who can help!

  • I am a South Coast based celebrant but will travel for couples who I vibe and share the same vision with. If you think we would be a great match, send me an enquiry and let’s chat!

  • Yes I do! If you are interested in me staying along for the party and being your go-to gal for the event and being the hostest of the mostest, let me know and I can send you through an additional quote.
